Hallelujah!
Nicholas has been teething for what has seemed like forever. In fact, his original pediatrician believed he started around the 2 month mark.
I figured teething had something to do with the crazy week we've had but to be honest, we have been waiting for his first tooth for so long that I didn't really expect it.
Monday was exhausting as Nick took multiple 15 minute naps. He wouldn't sleep any longer than that but he would wake up cranky, tired and unhappy. He fell asleep pretty early that night and had a very fitful night of sleep. Tuesday was simply more of the same and Tuesday night was even worse.
Wednesday couldn't have been more different. Nicholas took 4 1/2 hours worth of naps and slept really well that night. But then came yesterday. Oh yesterday...to say he was cranky would be the world's biggest understatement.
I don't really understand why babies fight sleep so hard when, as an adult, all you really want to do is take a nap. But I digress. He took a short nap in the morning and started getting tired around 1:00. I got him ready for his afternoon nap and everything pretty much went downhill from there.
To make a long story short he screamed off and on, without sleeping at all, until 7:30 last night. Once he finally fell asleep, from pure exhaustion I think, he woke up every 30-45 minutes. It's safe to say that it was a very long, very exhausting night.
The good news, however, is that we woke up to a giggling, babbling, happy baby who had just gotten his first tooth. Hallelujah, it finally broke through!
(I tried my best to get a picture, but he kept trying to eat the camera)
It amazes me that one little tooth can be so exciting, no matter how exhausted you are.

Oh, how I remember those teething days :( Glad it finally broke through and he's a happy lil' guy again :)
