Spring is here!

The weather outside today is absolutely beautiful!  It has been for the past few days.  77 degrees and sunny, yes please!  I'll take that any day of the week.

This year is more exciting because finally, Nicholas is old enough to really enjoy his time outdoors.  By the time he was born last year, it was already getting too hot for him to be outside for too long being so young.  This year we will be out soaking up as much Vitamin D as our bodies can handle.

But, before we get to picnics, parks and play dates, we have some work to do inside.

I don't know about you, you can call me weird if you want to, but I actually look forward to spring cleaning.  There is just something about getting every inch of your house sparkling clean, covering every nook and cranny, with the windows wide open that just starts the season off right.

This weekend will be all about spring cleaning in our house and, by nature, I am a list person.
I love lists!  Everything I need to do in one place, checking things off as I get them done.  Satisfaction.
So I've compiled my yearly spring cleaning tasks into one list and today I'm sharing that with you just in case you would like to get an early start on yours as well.  Enjoy!

1.  If you haven't already, change the batteries in your smoke detectors
2.  Take down all of your curtains/window treatments and either wash them or take them to the cleaners
3.  Wash the windows, inside and out
4.  Change out family wardrobes.  Pack away all of those heavy winter clothes and coats and bust out the shorts and bathing suits!
5.  Clean out your air conditioning vents/registers and any bathroom fans
6.  Dust like there is no tomorrow:
Ceiling fans
Baseboards
Wall Art/Pictures
Tops of cabinets/Shelves
7.  Give your oven a good cleaning, try to use natural cleaners to avoid the fumes (I'll be sharing my recipe tomorrow!)
8.  Give your bathtubs and showers and extra good scrubbing, again try to use natural cleaners, especially if you have little ones or pets
9.  Give your cabinetry hardware, door knobs, window sills and locks, light switches and walls a quick wipe down
10.  Wash out all of your trashcans
11.  Organize the small spaces you use everyday that can easily become cluttered such as your medicine cabinet, linen closet and pantry
12.  Shake out any rugs and welcome mats
13.  Give your washing machine and dishwasher a good cleaning
14.  Clean and flip your mattress
15.  Finally, sit back, relax and enjoy your clean home!
