Day 3

Today is day 3 without daddy and, well...mommy is tired.  Very tired.  N is a total daddy's boy and since daddy has been gone for the past few days, bedtime has been rough.

Not having daddy here to say goodnight to him is completely messing his schedule up.  Our normal 1/2 hour bedtime routine took almost an hour on Friday night and a little over 2 hours last night.  Once he finally fell asleep, he woke up every 45 minutes to an hour and cried for dada.  Broke my heart.

The good news is that daddy comes home tomorrow evening!  Hallelujah!  It looks like he will be leaving again in late April but for now he will be home.

So, in preparation for daddy's arrival tomorrow and in an attempt to keep Nicholas busy, distracted, happy, etc. today, we tried out a little art project.

Finger paint in a ziploc baggie, taped to the window.

Nicholas had a blast spreading the paint around and making pictures in the paint.  We wrote his name and drew pictures and he loved every second of it.

One piece of advice though if you're looking to try this out with your little one...tape the bag opening closed (DON'T JUST ZIP IT AND TAPE IT TO THE WINDOW)

Basically, your 11 month old will quickly figure out the zipper, open it up, and begin to finger paint everything within reach.  Not that I know from experience or anything ;)
