That usually sums up how I feel on Monday mornings. I mean, I know the weekends always seem to fly by, but seriously this last one went ridiculously quick. It really wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if Doc Brown and Marty McFly just happened to show up with a little plutonium and a DeLorean. That way I could start Saturday all over again and spend another couple of days with my two favorite boys.
Oh well, back to reality I guess. I thought I would have some good news to report. I hoped that we had figured out the underlying cause of Nicholas' skin and allergy issues but, unfortunately, it seems as though we have found ourselves back at the drawing board.
Although we have had Nicholas on a hypoallergenic formula since he was just a few weeks old, at one point we switched him from the liquid ready to feed to the powder because it was a little easier to take with us without needing a refrigerator. I thought that since they were the same formula, they would have the same ingredients. Guess I was wrong.
Turns out the powder form of the formula contains corn. Apparently Nick's stomach has trouble digesting corn and, basically, any other grain products. After switching him back to the liquid form, his eczema disappeared, he stopped scratching and he seemed less itchy. I was so sure we had found the culprit; however, it only lasted a few days. After about a week the eczema started to return and he has started scratching again. Now don't get me wrong, it actually looks a lot better than it did while he was on powder formula so obviously the corn has something to do with it, but it is not the only problem.
Either way, Nicholas has seemed a little happier this week and that definitely makes me happy.
(Again, I apologize for the quality of the picture from my phone. I will charge my camera today, I promise!)

Weekends should be longer!
