Rain rain go away

I love the rain, well, more specifically I love the smell of rain.  I love how it seems to make everything outside fresh and clean.  I love curling up on the couch with my little monkey and listening to a good thunderstorm.  In other words, I love just about anything that has to do with rain.  However, I have to admit that I am beginning to get tired of it today.

Thanks to Tropical Storm Lee it has been raining here since Saturday evening.  Almost 2 1/2 days of non-stop rain.  The kind that doesn't bring the sounds of thunder or the flashes of lightening, but just a constant downpour.  Thankfully this morning it has started to let up.  It's still raining of course but we have moved onto a slow drizzle with spurts of actual rain.  It has been cold and gray since this started and while I am definitely enjoying the cooler weather, I wish the sun would come out so that Nicholas and I could spend a little time outdoors.  He tends to get pretty cranky after being cooped up all day long.

Oh well, this time spent indoors has given me the chance to get a head start on some of my upcoming homework and catch up on some projects that I have been meaning to finish (I'll post about those later).  Shamelessly, it has also given me the chance to start looking at all of the ridiculously cute Halloween costume ideas for Nicholas' first Halloween.  The holidays seem to be approaching so quickly and it all seems so much more exciting when you have children.  I can't wait to share this time of year with our little monkey.
